Description

This is a lovely commission i finished today. My customer's original Deathwatch characters -
Bernhelm (Black Templars Chaplain) and Antonius Pollux (Ultramarines tactician, Tyrannic War Veteran).

The Deathwatch are a unique and specially trained Space Marine Chapter that dedicates its every hour to
xenos hunting. They are the Chamber Militant of the Ordo Xenos, charged with protecting it in its search
of information, containment, and ultimate destruction of all xeno species.

Here is some character descriptions if you are interested:

Antonius Pollux:
When the Ultramarines fought Hive Fleet Behemoth during the first Tyrannic War, Antonius Pollux was one of few survivors of the 5th Company. Following the terrors this war brought with it, it was clear that new strategies for fighting those monsters had to be devised, and thus, the „Tyranid Hunters“ were founded. Antonius chose a different path, though – he volunteered to join the Deathwatch, as he believed that their methods and experience with fighting all kinds of Xenos seemed promising. Over 400 years old by now, the stoic Ultramarine started out as the leader of Kill-team Epsilon. After 3 years, the team was wiped out defending a planet against the Tau while their reinforcement was stuck on a Space Hulk without a functional escape vessel. As the lone survivor, Antonius had the names of his fallen comrades carved into his armour, reminiscent of the Ultramarines' tradition of carving the names of their fallen into the wall of the Temple of Hera on Macragge. After that, he was assigned to Kill-team Lambda, to replace the loss of Imperial Fists squad leader Roland. After many successful missions (occasionally against all odds), he was finally awarded the Crux Terminatus.

Bernhelm:
Chaplain Bernhelm of the Black Templars, 435 years of service as an Astartes, is a rare specimen. Although hailing from one of the most fanatical chapters of the Adeptus Astartes, his outlook differs from that of his brothers, which probably led to him now serving in the Deathwatch. He took part in both wars on Armageddon against the Orks. In the Third War he witnessed the Salamanders branch out to protect the civilians, which enraged the Black Templars fighting by their side, as they lost many brethren during their continuing offensive. Bernhelm still found courage in the Salamanders' actions, which put him at odds with his own brothers. The second thing that made him different from them was that he did not completely oppose any kind of psykers, seeing the advantages of controlled and directed powers. He still persecuted enemy psykers with utmost zeal, but all the doctrinal disagreements finally led to him taking the Apocryphon Oath. His faith is so pure and strong that he was asked to serve as an inspiring example, and finally was trained as a Deathwatch Chaplain. Since then he has been leading and blessing his Deathwatch brethren, chanting prayers and hymns to the Emperor, the Crozius in his hand, and imbued with unshakable faith. Currently, he and his yet unnamed Kill-team composed of Deathwatch veterans stand as the Imperium's sole presence on the brink of a newly-conquered system.

A Black Templar that doesn’t hate all psykers? Interesting!
