Absolutely beautiful piece. Incredibly striking at first glance and visually pleasing overall. The level of contrast between various elements of the image really makes certain aspects stand out, especially the way in which the hair has been constructed. The lighting is lovely; I've always been a fan of the centered glow, it's almost as if the image is warm and cool at the same time. The anatomy is also very accurate and the pose works well with the expression, really calm and inviting. My only critique would be the blending and brush strokes. I think with a little more time there could have been a smoother outcome with more detail. ^_^
My immediate and spontanous thought was: That's awesome! But let's try to look at this fascinating picture in detail: - The anatomy looks very good. The facial features are modeled very clearly and also the hand looks good and in a natural pose. You gave Khayman a very expressive face (I love his nose especially) -The body posture is looking natural and relaxed in general. Nothing forecd about it. -The light/dark contrasts are cleverly set and add to the impact of the picture. The decent eye make up supports the expression of the face and also give Khayman that "Egyptian" look. -The only little "flaw"in my opinion are the strokes. They could be a little "softer", especially on the left arm.
