Ruven - sketch by d1sarmon1a Ruven - sketch by d1sarmon1a
Ruven was a former member of 1st Claw and a Night Lords' Sorcerer but at some unspecified point in the past, he had willingly
left the Night Lords and joined the Black Legion. He became a willing servant of Abaddon the Despoiler. However, Ruven was
eventually cast out by his patron after failing Abaddon one too many times.

Oh... Excuse me for that, i had to foresee that probability. Next time i will comment more carefully spoiler-wise. Actually it wasn't that much of a spoiler, that event is just a minor flash in the whole story. I put it there just to display his power. In fact, i would even like him for being really interesting person overall, shouldn't he appear so ridiculously overpowered in the book.

Amazing image as always but is he actually worth so much attention? I'm not judging but this specific character is mostly known for his fails. For instance, i have on my mind another Black legion's sorcerer and the right hand of Abaddon who never failed him, Iskandar Khayon. He was immensely powerful telekinetic, quite possibly the most powerful one among the Astartes and is mostly known for being able to drag an 8-million tonn ship through the entire Eye of Terror and destruction of Emperor's Children's Canticle City by dropping the mentioned ship on it with just his own willpower. Sadly, he's got one critical flaw: he is former brother of the Thoursand Sons, not the Night Lords... Wink/Razz

Well i don't think i gave him THAT much attention. I think he is memorable enough to have a little portrait, even if we remember him only for his fails.
And after you said the name Iskandar Khayon i stopped reading your comment, cause i still have to read The Talon of Horus book and i don't want
to see any spoilers. :P

well i will be able to say more after i read it. i just try to not read all ADB's books at once cause he is my favorite. :D
so i prefer to read other authors too and then just add some ADB's awesomeness time to time :D :D
i'm actually pretty sure i'll get inspired by it to draw smth, maybe Khaylon, maybe someone else :D
speaking of spoilers, here is a sneak peak of a bigger art i'm working on

Cool, i like your approach! :) (Smile) And yeah, well, sometimes i forget about that not everyone is such a maniac as am i, when it goes to reading. As for 40k authors, my personal favorite is Sandy Mitchell, his style is just perfect. ADB really improved his style substantially comparing to his early books, but still, his knowledge of back is at least incomplete. Why is he constantly mentiones that spacemarine's armor makes constant hum? Not even an armor as a whole, it could be somewhat understandable even if codex says the opposite, but he says armor's limbs produce the noise! The limbs! It just doesn't make any sense for me as an engineer... There's nothing in limbs capable to produce a constant noise. I suppose he tries to make some suspence but it just looks weird for me... Sorry for that complains, i just had to tell my thoughts to someone who can figure out what am i actually talking about...

I'm not sure I've read anything of Sandy Mitchell. Any suggestions?
Speaking of ADB, for me it's not about the noisy armor, but about good storytelling.
