Description

Private commission.
This is Barael, a Deathwing Knight of the Dark Angels and member of the Inner Circle. Up to now he has managed to find and hunt down several Fallen, committing them to his Chapter and his Chaplains and Interrogator Chaplains. During his hunts he is always looking for three persons: Darahel, a fallen Librarian, and Argonial and Meroviel, two fallen elite warriors. Those three have abducted someone who means a lot to him. For this reason he has recently joined the Deathwatch. The Inner Circle has obtained information on some Fallen, and Deathwatch service is a good opportunity to find them. Maybe he might even uncover something about the three persons he is looking for, as they have been declared open season for him. (After his Chapter has thoroughly interrogated them, of course!) He had been through a lot, and it has left its mark. He only ever laughs in dark humour or when he has apprehended a Fallen. Otherwise he is rather taciturn, serious and patient. If he raises his voice, it's only to say something constructive or useful.

Hello d1sarmon1a

This is a great portrait of an astartes. It also shows great craftsmanship in the use of black and white.

The only issues I would point out reside on his left shoulder pad. The renderings on the large inner part are not quite in the proper perspective. Also the vine-like drawing going up and down on the beveled part looks out of place with such a dark character. Maybe something smaller and inset, found on the right shoulder pad, would work better.

That's it. Great job in developing this character. It has a great amount of detail, cleanly laid out.
